1 PROJECT BACKGROUND AND DEFINITION
1.1 Corporate Background Information

Huffman Trucking was formed in 1936, but has since grown vastly in size since World War II. Today, they have expanded into a national corporation. Huffman has facilities in Cleveland, OH; Los Angeles, CA; St. Louis, MO; and Bayonne, NJ. Their initial fleet of 16 trucks has multiplied into 800 that pull 2,100 45’ trailers. Huffman has a combined employee mass of 1350 employees, which includes drivers and administrative personnel.

Mainly, Huffman Trucking does most of their shipping through their U.S. Government contracts. However, they also move auto parts, consumer electronics, and raw plastic polymer materials,

While Huffman Trucking takes great in being the first major freight carrier to outsource 100% of its information systems support, they have recently found the amount of paper records they keep is getting out of control.
