Should public schools require students to wear uniforms?

School faculties shouldn't have to worry about inappropriate dress and slander from students commenting about one another's dress style. Public schools should require students to wear uniforms because it will help students focus less on fashion and more on school work, increase school attendance, encourage faculty to become part of the solution and also help with safety purposes.
While attending public school myself, I use to wake up extra early to make sure I was ready and looking good for school everyday. All I cared about was my dress and not about if my homework for the day was done to turn in. I didn't want anyone whispering behind my back about me not being with the "IN" style. When I was put into private school I was required to wear a uniform. As a result, I got to sleep in longer not having to worry about what I was going to wear (my clothes were basically picked out for me). While in class, I didn't have to hear or worry about the whispers and snickers, about a certain student's style, circulating the classroom. I saw myself and the other students interested and focused on what was really going on in the classroom
the subject the teacher was teaching.
Some might say student's wont like the idea of uniforms and will stop attending school. But if you think about it, what are some of the reasons kids don't attend school? Well, what about getting beat up because of the out of date clothes they wear
or, if all the girls are wearing mid drifts and they just can't, because they're too embarrassed of their body
or the gang members on campus won't like the colors they're wearing that day? There are a lot of reasons to skip school and ignoring that fact wont help, but requiring students...
