Same Sex Marriage

In today’s society, homosexuality is becoming very common. Homosexuals in America are trying to gain more rights for same-sex marriage. Due to family problems associated with same-sex marriage and the effect on the children, more stringent same-sex laws are multiplying daily.
It can be an especially hard adjustment for kids who start out living in what they think is a typical heterosexual family to discover mom or dad is gay. A recent brash within a family considers homophobia made them closer. The husband says his marriage fell apart over his wife’s discomfort with her lesbian in-laws. His wife, the first person he ever told about his gay mother, demanded that there be no contact between their baby daughter and her gay grandmothers.
In California, an appeals court this month upheld the prohibition on same-sex marriage in a case that will head to the state supreme court. The justices steered clear of the “procreation argument” endorsed by recent high court ruling in New York and Washington. Those courts ruled in part that the State has an interest in steering couples who can have unplanned pregnancies into marriage to promote an upbringing by a biological mother and father. Among the toughest most universal unpleasantries kids in same-sex families face teasing from classmates. Despite such occasional ugliness, perhaps most striking about the children of gay parents is how little they say having a homosexual truly upsets their lives. For homosexual parents, having a gay child can be jarring- since it plays into antigay arguments that they proselytize their homosexuality. And having gay parents also may foster empathy and tolerance.
