Abstract
By issuing service request SR-rm-004, Riordan Manufacturing demonstrates their desire to develop a comprehensive view of their existing Human Resources Information System. This project is tasked with developing a strategy for fulfilling Riordan Manufacturing’s service request, to include an in-depth evaluation of its current Human Resource department, identifying gaps that may be bridged with either upgrades or the introduction of new systems to improve management effectiveness and efficiency. The results, interpretations and implications of this evaluation, along with recommendations will be detailed in this report.

Riordan Manufacturing has requested a review of its Human Resources Information System. Specifically, Riordan Manufacturing would like to look at the feasibility of incorporating all aspects of the Human Resources department into an integrated, state-of-the-art information system. This paper begins the first phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the analysis process.
The following information was obtained from Riordan Manufacturing’s Internet and Intranet sites (https://ecampus.phoenix.edu/secure/aapd/CIST/VOP/Business /Riordan/RioMfgHome002.htm): Riordan Industries, a fortune 1000 enterprise earning $1 billion dollars in revenues per year, wholly owns Riordan Manufacturing. An industry leader in the field of plastic injection molding, Riordan Manufacturing employs 550 workers and has projected earnings of $460 million. Riordan produces various products including beverage containers, plastic fans, and custom plastic parts. The company’s main clientele includes automobile parts manufacturers, aircraft manufacturers, the Department of Defense, beverage makers, bottlers, and appliance manufacturers.
