Rhetorical Analysis
According to the 100A assignment sheet for the rhetorical analysis, a rhetorical analysis (R.A.) is a type of writing which analyzes a professional document, text, etc. of a writer. In this assignment, students have opportunities to improve their writing skills and develop their abilities in identifying the rhetorical strategies a writer uses to achieve his or her purposes in a professional document. My audiences for this analysis are my classmates, my instructor, and other faculty members on the 100A portfolio committee.

In this article, Laudon uses the process analysis to describe the job projections and its percentage of the pay change between 2008 and 2018 for MIS students. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2011, the data from the Occupational Outlook Handbook shows five major categories for MIS jobs such as IS managers, systems analysts, computer support specialists, network and database administrators, and software engineers and …show more content…
Through it, I can educate myself and enhance my skills at writing a professional document by choosing and using appropriate strategies. If I write a research paper about MIS being the best and satisfying in business major, I will apply the logos strategy. I would say that Management Information Systems brings more value to the business field as it is basically the mixtures between business and information technology. It essentially focuses more towards business with technical knowledge. This is very helpful as students can seek for jobs both in IT and business side which opens up more opportunities for the students. Similarly, I will use process analysis, ethos, and Kairos to make my research paper logical, credible, and timely.
Logos is one of the successful strategies that Laudon used to show the statistics, numbers, and facts about the employment growth in IS/MIS jobs than average job growth in other fields. By using logos, Loudon shows the career satisfaction in the IS major of 54% to the MIS graduates. A major reason is the pay, where Loudon indicates MIS majors’ were ranked 15th out of
