Introduction: Riordan Manufacturing consists of several sites, the main office in San Jose, manufacturing facilities in Michigan, China and Georgia. The human resources (HR) consists of several divisions each of which operate in a different software. Chief Operations Officer Hugh McCauley has been granted funding to upgrade the HR department from the 16 year old tools they use now with current technology. This will cover a detailed project plan that provides a list of tasks, resources, schedule and budget. The project needs to be completed in approximately six months so the new system can be put in place by the second quarter of next year.
Initiation: The initiation phase of the HR Project for Riordan Manufacturing involves fact-finding to describe the current system and identify the requirements for the new system. This summary will identify the nature and scope of this business opportunity.
