1700's through the mid- 1800's, is the American Revolution and the
French Revolution. The American was a huge turning point in
American history, and the French Revolution was one of the most
important events in the history of the world. Both of these revolutions
had great impacts both then and now.
The American Revolution marked the end of the British rule and
the beginning of the new self-governed America. The American
Revolution began when the king of Britain sent colonists over to the
new world to colonize in the first thirteen original colonies. Britain
began to put taxes on needed items such as stamps, tea, sugar, and
newspapers. This outrage began the rebellion of the Americans
against the British. One of the first significant events of the
Revolution was the well-known Boston tea party. And so the
Revolution began.
During the American Revolution, ideas from the Old World were
put to the test. Ideas such as separation between the church and the
state, written constitutions, and sovereignty of the people were just a
few. When the American colonists won their independence from
Britain, the United States of America was created.
The French Revolution was mostly caused by the disputes
between the different social classes in the French society and their
ideas in which to control the government. At the time of the
revolution, France was the most powerful state in Europe. The
authorities of kings, priests and nobles were questioned during this
