Correlational Research Design
2.How to get data :
I will use questionnaires to gather information from students in campus who had smoked. The survey will be handled under confidentiality.
3. Design of study
- Definition of Problem: GPA of marijuana smokers is lower than that of non smokers.
- Identifying Variables:
Periods for smoking marijuana (Variable X) to GPA (Variable Y)
- Data Collection:
Questions are following as?
- Have you smoked marijuana?
- If not, what was your average GPA?
- If so, how long have you smoked?
- What was your GPA when you started smoking marijuana?
- GPA after two semesters?
- GPA after 2 years?

- Data analysis
Fig 1 is my prediction about data collections.
If the result of data analysis is same or similar as my prediction, I can say that
there is strong correlation between smoking marijuana and GPA.
I conclude that smoking marijuana gives negative effect to people.

Why did you choose this particular method?
We already acknowledge that smoking marijuana is illegal and unethical activity. We can not use natural observation research and experimental research. We can not ask students whether they smoke marijuana or not.
