1) PRP Architects and Project Services Area.

PRP Architects was originally founded in 1963 and registered as a limited company PRP Architects LTD in 1992. Today the company employs over 340 staff spread across its 4 UK offices in UK and now is starting to expand internationally to China, Russia, Middle East and North Africa.

Architecture remains the practices core discipline and its skills base encompasses all aspects of design and planning including: architecture, town planning, master planning, sustainability, project management, urban design, landscape architecture, technical services and interior design.
PRP specializes in regeneration, master planning of new communities on green field sites, brown field development, specialist housing, education, healthcare and mixed use/commercial developments.
In this report I am going to focus in the Project services area, which was created in 1995 and ever since it has been growing through the years. It is actually managing about 80 projects in UK valued in more than £400m.
The clients are from both the private and Public Sector and PRP’s experts come from varied backgrounds including housing associations, local authorities and construction; they offer skills, including options appraisals, stakeholder-liaison, building surveying, cost consultancy and employers agent services.

2) How does the organisation monitor its environment?

PRP as a whole is part of a club of 15 consultancies of similar size who meet regularly and share financial and performance information although in an anonymous way which means that each member has access to all indicators but nobody knows to whom specifically belong.

Apart from this they have access to specialised magazines (Architectural Journal, Building Magazine) and website publications that periodically published rankings about the construction, design and consultancy sectors.
