The Board of Directors, senior management team, and leaders of Harrison-Keyes must determine what is preventing the achievement of a successful implementation of an e-publishing initiative. The plan to strategically implement and align an electronic book format has not gone smoothly or without setbacks.
The Board of Directors took the advice of a new CEO Meg McGill to make a change in the culture of Harrison-Keyes to publish e-books. The Board depended on the leadership team however; Meg failed to execute the necessary leadership for a new project undertaking, a critical function of a CEO. Meg failed to be a leader of the successful implement of this change.
As CEO, Meg had a vision, but no game plan. A CEO demonstrates leadership and leadership is doing. She needed to put people into action and move them forward. While she looked to the future, she also needed to be in accordance with a preconceived plan (Sher, 2007). Meg failed to demonstrate that her leadership team was capable or prepared to carry out the strategic change.
This paper will show how to create a plan to reduce project duration, design a project closure approach, and utilize a problem-solving approach based on the University of Phoenix Week 4 Scenario: Harrison-Keyes(Scenario: Harrison-Keyes, Inc, 2008).
