In 2008, all Americans will have to make one of the biggest decisions in their lives. On September 11, 2001, under the leadership of President Bush, America was attacked on its soil for the first time since the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. As the War on Terror continues, the next president will undoubtedly face many of the same challenges as President Bush. I believe former New York City Mayor, Rudolph Giuliani, is the best person to be our next president. His promises to keep America on the offense in the War on Terrorism, ensure that every community in America is prepared for terrorist attacks and natural disasters, and to increase adoptions, decrease abortions and protect the quality of life for our children have convinced me to vote for him during the next election. I completely support President Bush, especially concerning the War on Terror, and feel that Giuliani is willing to walk the same path, demonstrated by his statement “Bush’s legacy will be that of a great president” (Wikipedia Contributors).
Rudolph Giuliani has promised to keep America on the offensive concerning the War on Terror. Giuliani stated “If any Republican is elected president—and I think obviously I would be the best at this—we will remain on offense and will anticipate what [terrorists] will do and try to stop them before they do it.. We’re going to win that war whether there’s a Republican president or a Democratic president or any along the way? And I truly believe that if we go back on defense for a period of time, we’re going to ultimately have more losses and it’s going to go on much longer. If one of them gets elected, it sounds to me like we’re going on the defense. We’ve got a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq. We’re going to wave the white flag there. We will cut back on the Patriot Act. We’re going to cut back on electronic surveillance. We’re going to cut back on interrogation. We’re going to cut back, cut back, cut back, and we’ll be back in our...
