Politics Good or Bad?
POLITICS AND GOVERNANCE

1. In your own opinion is politics good or bad?

* For me politics is both good and bad. Good because we can use this as a way to serve and help people in our country. We can also use politics to create or form a law to help improve our economy and our country. But on the other side of it, politics can also be used for bad purposes and personal agendas. Politicians can overuse their power to have lots of benefits just for them. Here in the Philippines, there are lots of politicians that use their power to lift their own life by stealing the money of the Filipinos. Lots of politicians not only here in the Philippines but as well as in other countries became as politician only because of the money that they will get. Most of the politicians use their power to escape the crime or felony that they have done and worst of it, sometimes, for them to escape in what they have done bad, they alleged other people or innocent people to be the one to suffer from their mistakes. Politics became bad because of the politicians who use it in a bad way. And sad to say, sometimes, politics is the reason why justice is not served in all the people who needs it. That is why there are lots of people that thinks and sees politics as bad because of the politicians who uses it not for good reasons or to help people and improve our country but for bad purposes and for their personal agendas. 2. How can you contribute to P-Noydrive against corruption?

* I can contribute to President Aquino’s drive against corruption first by starting it with myself, I will stop cheating and getting some money or “kupit” on my parents wallet without their permission. Second, by voting the right person who I think will serve the country without any plan on corrupting the money of the Filipinos, the one who will love our country by serving only right justice in every Filipino and would not break the law just because he has a high position in the government, the

I believe there is some truth to the stereotype of politicians but not all are true. The reason why to this fact is because the only thing you hear about anything towards politics is when someone is lying or when an individual is doing something incorrect. When most people think about politicians they think liars, cheaters, and hypocrites. Most people do not trust any politician with good reason. There have been a lot of promises in the past and in the present that have been made by politicians and not kept. It would seem that the promises were made only to gain the confidence of voters, and forgotten once in office. It seems as though no one can get a straight answer from a politician. There seems to be a lot of scare tactics, Ad Hominem, straw man, and red herring fallacies when it comes to politics.…

Politics is where the corruptness has happen through the years many political figures has shown there side of corruptness. Politics is “the process that determines who we select as our governmental leaders and what polices these leaders pursue. Politics produces authoritative decisions about public issues”. (Edwards, Wattenberg, and Lineberry, p. 9). What makes politics good is that we as Americans gets to pick who we want to make our lives different, and make it better. This has been the process for some time now, and it only has gotten better. What makes it bad is that sometimes those that we do select to make a difference does not live up to their promises. That is why our government is corrupt because all the lies and the broken promises so many leaders have stated. We have been blessed with some who have made a difference, and made our lives some what better but, we will always be on the short end of the stick to some political figures not all of them.…

Politicians are those who are productive members of a political party. These people are those who work in the government such as: senate members, house representatives, justices, or people who make up the government. They seem to be good people who have intentions to do good communities and nation. What I do not understand is why so many politicians give in to corruption. It seems to me that some politicians are doing well, but become susceptible to corruption for a reward or personal gain. In short, there are too many corrupt politicians that make me think that any politician who is not corrupt is only being good for an under the table pay or illegal pay. It is very hard for me to see a politician as good and I would like to be able to trust…

As President Benigno S. Aquino III assured that Philippines will remain conducive to business, the country’s economic strides haven’t escaped notice, noting the Philippines is now rated investment grade for the first time in history by three major credit rating agencies. The economy grew by a remarkable 7.8 percent in addition to countless other indicators of economic growth. As companies continue to reap the benefits of the Philippine economic revival, he expects the companies to also share the fruits of their hard works not only through philanthropic activities but also by setting the good example as citizens who fulfill their obligations. However, the pork barrel scam happening in the Philippines because of unscrupulous politicians, a.k.a. public servants, who instead of servicing the needs and aspirations of the people are working for their own selfish ambitions, sadly, this puts doubt now the much touted slogan of PNoy calling for a “tuwid na daan” or the straight path in his governance as militant groups have filed plunder complaints against Aquino, members of his Cabinet and businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles before the Office of the Ombudsman. Unfazed about the accusation and even daring the opposition to go ahead and file impeachment charges against, Aquino painted even a gloomier picture when he recently revealed that it was worst during Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s administration.Referring to Arroyo’s administration, during his speech before the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals,…

"A means by which individuals and interest groups compete to shape government's impact on society's problems and goals." Politics is easily defined. It is the concept behind the words that is more difficult to understand. Though politics is the primary method of communicating with government, this is not the only time politics are used. Immediate, individual interests, wants, and needs must be satisfied, as well as societal problems. The pursuit of interest is the purpose and initiation of political behavior.…

In 1988, graft and corruption in the Philippines was considered as the "biggest problem of all" by Jaime Cardinal Sin, the Archbishop of Manila. Then President Corazon C. Aquino likewise despaired that corruption has returned. In 1989, public perception was that "corrupt government officials are greater threat to the country" than the communist guerrillas. In 1992, former President Fidel V. Ramos considered graft and corruption as the third major hindrance towards attaining his development strategy for the country.…
