Polar Opposites: Upper Class Vs Lower Class

One should completely dispose the first amendment when comparing the upper and lower classes. The first amendment basically states that everyman is equal, regardless of financial state. However, this amendment is bent constantly throughout present day as there is an obvious difference between upper class and lower class. The stereotypical upper class member of society is simply brought up with more luxuries and resources than that of a lower class gender. The generic upper class child is born into a wealthy, happy, normal, and indifferent environment, where taking risks is kept at a minimal and they are provided with virtually anything they want. In addition, the generic upper class child is brought up with many educational luxuries. They blossom from the popup books in the toddler days to complex pieces of literature in the college days. The basic lower class child is the polar opposite of the everyday upper class child. He/she is usually born into a poor, difficult, melancholy, and unstable environment. Even though all lower class people may not be melancholy, it is very hard to find happiness in the amount of life problems and risks they must deal with daily. Purchasing a popup book may not even be possible at times and sacrificing certain possessions to get that popup may be the only option. Also, the lower class child usually attends a day care, not a preschool, and this can lead to further inequalities in class. “Some enter kindergarten not knowing how to hold pencils” (Rothstein). College is simply unrealistic for these poor children due to their economically and racially segregated neighborhoods. The lower class simply has minimal first amendment rights due to their financial state of being. It is more obvious than a sore thumb; the upper class is superior to the lower class in many different aspects of life.
