However, there are various factors that influence or affect the functions of management; E-Business, Technology, and Rapid Change.
E-Business
E-Business impacts Planning, the first function of management, by requiring Unisys to develop their business plan to include services that are available electronically as an option to their client. Unisys offers so many services; I have chosen to focus on the Weather Information Services of Unisys. As Unisys houses the system that collects and compiles the meteorological data, it provides the data electronically to its clients. By providing this service, Unisys provides a service that can reach a far greater client base.
Organizing is impacted by E-Business by requiring the organization to have a dedicated department to not only develop their product, but, to provide support to it as well. For example, Unisys needs to staff a dedicated team of meteorologist to analyze the data it provides through its Weather Service.
Leadership is impacted and impacts E-Business in a variety of methods. First within Unisys there must be clear lead roles. In order for the company to remain competitive there must be someone to push the organization to better their services whether it is to provide more data, faster data or customizable data.
