Pet Peeve Essay

If i had to say that i have a pet peeve, or something that i
feel gets really on my nurves it would have to be people that use
Cell phones with total disreguard for the people around them that are
forced to listen to their one sided conversations against their will. Dont
get me wrong, i think the advances in cell phone technology are great,
the ability to wirelessly talk to anyone in the world on demand without
the use of wires is a very incredable achievement, but it does have its
minor negative aspacts that just seem to bug me and get on my nurves.
Throughout the centuries people have searched with viable ways
of communicating with others at great distances. Some methods like using
carrier birds or smoke signals, proved inaccurate and too slow to deliver
improtant information. It wasent until the invention of the telegraph that the real
potential for person to person communication was realized. After years and
years of study and improvement, people seem to have perfected the modern
phone but it seems that we as a culture havent perfected the etiquette that
should be used in conjuction with these advances.
To me, i feel that many cellphone users are unaware of just how discourteous
they are being. Wether it be at a book store, library , public bus, train, theatres, wedding,
or funeral, there are just some places where their are other people who dont care what
your conversation is all about, but people still continue to think that what they need...
