Personal Statement For Gradschool
I can remember my last day of college at Drexel University and the relief of being done with my college career. Although deep down inside, I knew that this wasn’t really the end. Since my earlier years in high school, there were two things that always fascinated me; technology and entrepreneurs. Although I pursued my undergrad in technology, I knew that eventually I would want to dabble in something related to entrepreneurship. I believe an MBA degree would be an ideal medium to learn everything about the world of business and entrepreneurship.
As I advanced in my education path and moved on to college, I began to realize that technology was a very exciting field; however, it was definitely not the only thing that I wanted to focus on. With a minor in business, I began to gravitate towards the application of technology in business. I took electives that were more focused on Business such as Marketing, Accounting, and Finance etc. Upon graduation I was forced to make a very difficult decision as I received very compelling offers from top technology companies such as Accenture and Deloitte. On the other end, I also received an offer from Merrill Lynch, one of the financial giants. It was a tough decision for me because Accenture and Deloitte were very good technology companies and the jobs being offered fit in very well with my undergraduate major. On the other hand, Merrill Lynch was a very strong financial firm; however, I was uncertain about the role and strength of technology within the company. I decided to take a risk and take the offer with Merrill Lynch to pursue my interest in business and entrepreneurship. I would soon realize that this was one of the best decisions of my career.
As I began my journey in the corporate world, I soon realized that entrepreneurship was a very broad and general concept to pursue as a goal. Working for Merrill Lynch help me put things into perspective as it guided me to scope down and specify my goals. Soon after...
