Personal Goals
Personal Goals That I Want to Achieve as a University of Phoenix Student.
First of all, I am excited to be back at school again! There have been so many days, that I have asked myself, "Why you are not in school finishing your education?" In my mind, I would come up with several different reasons as to why I did not have time or money to accomplish this much needed goal of mine. All these years, I have always put my family and my job first, only to leave such a precious desire of mine as a distant second. Do not get me wrong, I have accomplished many other personal goals in my life time, and the decisions that I have made have been very eventful. According to Evan Esar (1899 1995), "You can not do anything about the length of your life, but you can do something about its width and depth". That particular quote has given me a new found look at my life at this point. It has taken me 40 years, two marriages, and one beautiful ten year old daughter to finally realize, that I may now achieve some of my personal goals in life as a student at the University of Phoenix. My personal growth and success in my life has taken a front seat, to fulfill my eagerness for a new life adventure as a student again. So with that, let me tell you a little bit of how my interest blossomed. My first goal was to get enrolled in some type of on-line course to further my education and career. I must admit that it was difficult trying to decide which way to go. Do I want to continue a career in Criminal Justice (I am an Air Force Cop) or do I want to obtain a degree in another field? I found myself a bit confused as to which direction I wanted or needed to go. With the help of a couple good friends of mine, constantly cracking the whip at me, I finally made a decision to just do it, and here I am enrolled!
