ABSTRACT
This project research aims to reflect the differences in perceptions of British and Chinese people particularly in Nottingham Trent University (City Campus) and Nottingham Trent International College about the Olympic Games which is hosting in Beijing 2008 and London 2012. 40 questionnaires were distributed to students and teachers in NTU & NTIC, some individual interviews were carried out and an online questionnaire was sent to all of students in NTIC in order to investigate whether the threat of terrorism, environment issues and basic human rights would affect visitors to attend the Olympic Games. In addition, the researcher aims to understand Chinese’s and British people’s attitudes and feelings towards the fact that their country is hosting the Olympic Games 2008 (Beijing-China) and 2012 (London- England).

The Olympic Games over the past three decade have been regarded as the most spectacular international festivals which have consistently presented to bring people together in terms of peace and globalization. Beijing 2008 which is very attractive to the world’s eyes. This event could be seen as a momentous opportunity for China to improve their image across the world.
