The Patriot
The movie starts out with Benjamin and his family on their plantation. Benjamin gets a letter and the family goes to Charlestown, South Carolina to address the issue of going to war with Britain. Benjamin starts the movie having lost his wife and having to raise four sons and two daughters by him self. Benjamin is against going to war with Britain but the state votes on going to war. This vote allows Benjamin's oldest son Gabriel to join the army against his father's wishes. Gabriel is away at war and wrights to his brother Thomas and tells him about the war and other things. Thomas reads the letters to the other children. One night Gabriel comes home wounded trying to take dispatches to other troops. The next morning the British arrive and through words and dishonor Benjamin's second son gets killed while trying to get Gabriel free. So far Benjamin has lost a wife and his second son. Benjamin has no time for grieving because the British burn his house. Benjamin takes his two youngest sons with him and rescue Gabriel. At this point Benjamin takes his family to live with their aunt, while Gabriel and him self go off to fight. Benjamin is put in charge of a band of militia and also has his son Gabriel under his command. Benjamin's men start targeting officers because one of Cornwallace's men is killing innocent women and children. Benjamin has still no time to grieve over the loss of his second son Thomas because he is now consumed with war. In the mean time Gabriel has met a lady and has started to court her. Then some of Benjamin's men get captured and Benjamin plays a trick on Cornwallace to get his men back and makes a fool out of Cornwallace. Cornwallace is pissed so he tells the "bad guy" of the movie to go back to his dishonorable war tactics to get him Benjamin. The "bad guy" starts to kill the families of the men under Benjamin's leadership. Benjamin gets his family to move to the coast so they will be safe....
