Jealously Makes You Do Some Crazy Things
Word I Q defines jealous as a, "painfully desirous of another's advantages," and "suspicious or unduly suspicious or fearful of being displaced by a rival." Jealousy has been around since the being of time because God said in his word that he was jealous God and he wanted nothing else place before him. Many people do foolish things when they are in love but jealousy can also make people do foolish things. When someone gets really jealous, their jealousy turns in to anger and some people react in anger before they realize the consequences of their actions. In Othello, by William Shakespeare this is exactly the case. Othello does something that he will never forget all because he was jealous.
In the beginning of the book Othello had just married Desdemona the daughter of Brabantio. When word of the wedding got around a lot of people become very upset and disappointed in Desdemona for marrying a black man. Roderigo is mad because he has spent a lot of money trying to buy the love and companionship of Desdemona. Iago is mad at Othello because Iago didn't get the promotion to lieutenant. Othello is a highly respected man but they know that when word gets around that he married Desdemona a lot of people will be upset. Iago and Roderigo decide to go tell Brabantio the news. Brabantio is very upset and searches to find Othello. Iago disappears like a theft in the night because he does not want Othello to know that he was one of the people that ran to Brabantio telling that Othello and Desdemona were married. Iago then goes and tells Othello that Roderigo was saying mean things about him to Brabantio. Iago acts like such a concerned person, Iago also tells Othello that he wanted to kill Roderigo for saying those mean things about Othello but his conscience would not allow him to do such a thing. Iago warns Othello that Brabantio and Roderigo are searching for him. Iago tells Othello that he should go in the house...
