INTRODUCTION
Organizations are responsible for many of our education and training, health and welfare and security. An organization can be simple or complex, have commercial or social objectives. In most economies, the government will take responsibility for organizing a country’s infrastructure. Infrastructure includes motorways, airs and rail networks, communication systems, emergency services and even legal and regulatory authorities. Each is maintained by some form of organizations. Indeed, organizations regulate and dictate so many aspects of our lives by giving many of us somewhere to work, entertain us when we are at leisure, developing new products and services for our enjoyment. Even if we do not work in one, we can rarely escape their influence.
Organizational behaviour is about human behaviour on the job. It is also the study of human behaviour in the workplace, the interaction between people and the organization itself. The major goals of organizational behaviour are to explain, predict and control behaviour. An application of organizational behaviour knowledge is to achieve enhanced productivity and satisfaction in the workplace. Non-managerial professionals, technology workers, sales representatives, service providers and managers can propel to excel and also assist individual organizational contributors in becoming more adaptive and effective. It is a key contribution in driving workforce productivity, is a standard part of the curriculum in schools and college of business, management and public administration. Most people interpret the concept of organization to mean a business or work environment. Areas such as religious, sports and social groups are considered by others more of a society than an organization.
