One Should Never Judge a Person by External Appearances
Writing Topic :

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? One should never judge a person by external appearances.

I certainly agree with the above statement. “Never judge a book by its cover.” The word “book” also refers to person. External appearances can trick us. If you only look at a person by his outlook, you will never find and have a true friend because the most important is inner beauty or character.

Person who has fierce face, frightening appearances looks like a rascal may be a friendly and kind person. He probably has reason to act like that. It may be caused of family problems, a bad memories or something that won’t even pops up in our mind. Don’t ever be afraid to say “hi” or just give a smile. It will impact something good. Usually, person like that doesn’t want to greet others first. He may be a nice person.

In the other hand, a ‘good-looking’ person may be a bad one. We won’t realize that he has an evil plan to prick behind us because his outlook covers everything. They may look friendly outside but depraved inside. Silent doesn’t always mean golden. He may think or even plan something bad when he’s in silent. He may hide his anger deep inside and covers it so that nobody will know. But, he can’t keep it for the rest of his life. Sometimes, he must be angry and usually it will be more frightening than people in common.

So, at the end, by this essay, I just want to say that outer beauty isn’t the most important, but inner beauty is. An outlook hide what’s inside. But, it doesn’t mean a ‘good-looking’ person is always bad. A good friend is he who always be there for us although we don’t see them.

Some people, no matter how old they get, never lose their beauty - they merely move it from their faces into their hearts ~ Martin Buxbaum

There is a cliché quote that people say, “Beauty is in the eye of beholder.” But in the essay “The Ugly Truth About Beauty” (1998) Dave Barry argues about how women who spend countless hours on their so called “beauty” whereas men seem not to care. Barry uses juxtaposition and exaggeration to poke fun at men and women behavior and shed light on the harm that the beauty industry is doing. When Barry argues his point of his essay he addresses both genders, but more specifically teenage to middle age men and women, but he writes about it in a humorous and light-hearted manner.…

The first thing people see is the outward appearance of someone. It doesn’t always mean people act like how they dress necessarily, get to know a person and you’ll see what they’re really like. Someone might look lazy and not pay a lot of attention to their appearance, but they could be a diligent and intelligent person. Outward appearances should not affect the way the person is viewed on the inside. People also might act differently than someone else because of where they grew up and how they lived. “Human behavior is largely constrained by the rules that govern particular situations and environments. We are constantly obliged to behave in a particular way, or to avoid certain behaviors” (Burgess). That quote from the article, “Breaking the Rules,” explains the theme that you should get to know someone before you decide what to think of them, because not everyone is who they seem.…

The way someone presents himself can be deceptive in trying to influence your perception, and ultimately, your judgement. “Josef Weber. The same Josef Weber I know?... Josef Weber’s a sweet old man I’ve known for a decade. If he’s a Nazi, honey, then I’m Lady Gaga.”(Picoult 97) Someone who is considerably different from who they appear to be may seem to contrast who they actually are. Our perceptions of someone can be easily clouded or manipulated by a few actions or a first impression. If an old man acts very jovial and…

No one can judge a book by its cover. The value of something is not always obvious from what is seen on the surface, but from experience and learned by your heart. Antoine de Saint-Exumpery once said, “It is only with the heart that can see rightly…” Everyday, people make assumptions of other things based solely on appearance. From simple things such as grocery items in a supermarket, to more complex decisions, such as choosing a person we want to spend our lives with, people make these decisions on the appearance of these things. We choose these things because, on the outside, they appear flawless. And some seem to think, if the outside is flawless, then the rest must be perfect as well. But as with anything in life, what is on the outside isn’t always what is most important. One must react to not what their eyes see, but to how their heart reacts. They need to be able to know the true personality of something before they can judge it on anything. Two books that can relate to this would one be, ”Macbeth” written by Shakespeare. The other one could be in the story, “Cross Fire” by James Patterson. In all I strongly agree with what Antoine de Saint-Exumpery once talked about and that you should follow your heart and never judge a book by its cover.…

First, The more we get to know somebody, the best we can evaluate them. For instance, Don’t judge a book by its cover. we can’t tell a book by just looking the front cover and the title whether it is good or bad. we have to read certain parts or chapters of it to tell or recommend to someone to read it. As well as it is the same as a book when we come to people we can’t judge them by first look we have get to know for some time. the person we met first mightn't be in a good mood or there are persons who don’t express themselves in first time and there are some people who are shy and some who aren’t shy or confidence. so in order to judge people we have to have some time to know them well. And have to give them our attention. Finally in order to jump to the next we have to think first.…
