Personal, Educational and Professional Goals
I have set many personal goals for myself as a new student of ., I spent some time thinking over what is it I value and evaluating the goals I have set reinforce those values. I am ready to begin this journey with a clear picture in my head of what I want my achievements to be. My goals can be classified as both professional and personal or as long- term and short-term. There is, of course, an overlap and continuity of objectives necessary for my goals to be successful. Each of these goals leads to achieving a sense of success or satisfaction. Due to the completeness in my goal setting process, a general satisfaction is reachable even if success is not achievable in each area. My intent is to concentrate on professional goals using short-term goals to support and work toward fulfilling my long-term goals. Professionally it is my intent to obtain employment within the social service field.

The long-term goal of my professional goals is to become active within the Family Care program. The Family Care program assists elderly residents in Wisconsin with personal and supportive care. All clients enrolled are low income. Many times this population is forgotten or believes that they do not have a voice. I want to be that voice. I believe that everyone deserves a chance and allowed to use services available. My goal does not include going up the corporate ladder or becoming a geriatric expert instead, I want the hands- on experience and the ability to help each client to the best of my ability.

A short goal that will support my long-term goal is to complete my education. By completing my education this will open new opportunities within the geriatric field. With the completion of school, I will be prepared for different environments that I might encounter within the field.
