Both Oedipus the King and Willie Loman are concidered tragic heroes. They both exhibited tragic flaws that led to their defeat or death. However, even though they were both tragic heroes; they also both had some differences. In the end though, both Oedipus and Willie are still both concidered tragic heroes.
Oedipus the king and Willie Loman were very similar in many ways. They were both concidered to be tragic heroes for thier character in their stories. Oedipus and Willie both had a horrible ending. They both came to an end after a tragic ending. While Oedipus killed his father, Willie died. They both carried their fatal flaw with them through out their stories. Oedipus told he was going to kill his father and sleep with his mother which eventually happened, but he carried it with him through out the entire story. Willie had no money coming in, his boys were failures, and he hallucinated. At the end he was in a car crah because he was hallucinating. This was right after he found out about his boys who earlier told him that they failed again, and now no money was going to be coming from that scenerio either. Both characters carried a burden with them throughout the stories, and they eventually came to an end because of it. Willie would hallucinate because of his money problems, while Oedipus was doomed form the beginning. Both of these characters are tragic heroes because they have similar situations that qualify them, and they are very much alike.
While Oedipus and Willie were very similar, they also showed characteristics of being very different that you might not concider them to be tragic heroes. Willie was just a man who couldn’t make a dime. Compared to Oedipus, he was completely opposite. Oedipus was burdened from the beginning when Willie was still making commission. He could have found another job. It wasn’t life threaghtening at the time. It was simply a job. Oedipus was going to commit murder, and sleep with his mother. He was...
