Barack Obama
Barack Obama is the first African-American candidate who has served in the senate for 3 year before his announcement to run for the presidency. He is a liberal Democrat. He brought up with many ideas that will make America¡¯s economy better and recover the damage from what Bush Administration has done.
Obama¡¯s economic advisor: Austan Goolsbee graduated in University of Chicago. He points out that ¡°the government has to play big part facing economy.¡±
1. Barack believes strongly in a tax cut for the middle class.
a) He wants to reverse the Bush tax cut for the upper class
b) For lower and middle class working families a $1000 tax credit and $500 for individuals.
2. Barack Obama thinks that a universal healthcare system controlled by the government and public sector is the best solution for the current crisis.
a) He does not want a mandatory healthcares system where you are penalized if you don¡¯t need or want healthcare
b) He wants to lower the ever rising cost of healthcare so it is more easily afforded for the average American
c) He strongly wants to support investment in biomedical research and medical education, because it provides foundation for new therapies and diagnostics.
3. Barack Obama strongly states that he will create more jobs and improve technology.
a) He believes, ¡°we need to double federal funding for basic research and make the research and development tax credit permanent to help create high-paying, secure jobs.¡±
b) He wants to make long term investment in ¡°education, training, and workforce development.¡±
c) He will make the network more affordable and cheaper for users.
