When I was reading the novel it is very informal of the story, but it requires a since of imagination. In the film it gives viewers a visual and also gives a different interpretation of the novel all over again. Even though the book uses imagery and other elements to define the characters, I feel as though the film is what really helps you get a close up view of what is going on. McCarthy gives the readers an insight on how the characters thought and an insight of their feelings and emotions. In the very beginning of the book the narrator Sherriff Bell speaks to the readers, and outsiders which he tells how he saw a new evil and how it was no longer like the older days. In the opening of the film it gives the setting and sets the mood while Sherriff Bell talks about the new evil and we are able to hear his dialect.
