Heartiest congratulations on winning the “Business Leader of the year” award for 2007 from the World Leadership Forum. This is a great recognition, among your other significant achievements.

Harvard business review quoted “M & S- A phoenix rising”. This greatly explains how your able leadership helped this huge firm to recover at a time when it was vulnerable to take over.

Recovering such a massive corporate entity is not an easy task and having accomplished it, it is another feather in your cap. Each time the history of the company is remembered, your excellent skills and techniques will be the reason for the company at its current standing. M&S continues to win hearts of millions of people by taking new initiatives such as Plan A. Please do keep up the good work.

We, the postgraduate students of Graduate Business School of University of Strathclyde undertook “Marks & Spencer” as a case study for the business and planning model. A business report has been prepared which includes a few strategic options and recommendations for the company. We are delighted and grateful to present a copy of the report to you, which you will find along with this letter.
