Nikely has done an acceptable job in addressing the criticisms of its outsourcing and the practices of some of its suppliers because it has successfully branded apparel, sporting goods, sunglasses, and even MP3 player made by Philips. Besides that, Nike has also branched into previously unexplored merchandising arenas. Nike critics maintain that these efforts do not go far enough to improve conditions for garment workers. Nike supplier plants where employees are underpaid, overworked, and commonly face verbal and even physical abuse. Nike's stated commitment to high labor standards has yet to translate into consistent practice.

Furthermore, Nike had strategize a crisis communication plan by defining measurable goals, identifying all the key message sources, develop an effective communication messages and implement communication tactics. For example, product safety and quality sessions, work-group meetings, media tactics such as interactive news releases, story memo to reports about the progress and displaying ads in the news papers, radio commercials. Nike also continued a systematic approach in managing the crisis as mentioned above and then continue their focus in raising minimum wages working with the overseas contractors and labor unions in order to recreate a positive image.

To add on, by posting information about the 750 Nike-sponsored factories had helped Nike become more transparent towards the eyes of the public and also Nike’s loyal supporter. The initial step of trying to reach out and reason with Nike’s more moderate critics had failed because Nike did not provide enough evidences to prove all these are false allegations.
