INTRODUCTION

On the Job training or OJT is student training at the place of work while he or she is doing the actual job. Usually a professional trainer (or sometimes an experienced employee) serves as the course instructor using hands-on training often supported by formal classroom training. It also helps the students to acquire relevant knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting. Colleges and universities require their students to undergo such training within a specific number of hours as part of the curriculum.Since the trainer or the supervisor can follow the trainees’ progress, he can gauge based on performance, behaviour and attitude if the trainee will make a good recruit after the completion of his internship.
On-the-job training is a great opportunity to assess whether you and the candidate are a match.OJT’s can bring fresh ideas into the organization. Given the opportunity to speak their minds freely and without fear, they may be able to contribute significantly in brainstorming sessions or research and eventually help improve the organizations productivity. While training the interns, employers are in fact also teaching their employees to process of guiding the trainees stretches their patience, develops teaching skills and makes them more sensitive to the needs and mind set of the younger generation. It also enables employers to hire and train new employees at their place of business, while being reimbursed for a percentage of their wages during training. Accommodating on-the-job trainees can truly be beneficial not only to thetrainees but also to the companies that provide opportunities for this type oflearning. This is also why trainees shouldtake their internship seriously as it can become a powerful tool and possibly evena source of recommendation when they take that big lift from being students tocareer professionals.

II. NARRATIVE REPORT OF EXPERIENCE

WORK WITH ESTABLISHMENT

The Philippine Health insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) administers the National Health Insurance Program (formerly Medicare). Its vision is to ensure sustainable, affordable and progressive social health insurance which endeavours to influence the delivery of accessible quality health care for all Filipinos.
I really appreciate the establishment’s role to the people of the Philippines. It’s a great privilege to be one of the OJT students. What I learned in my workplace is being hard working, even though it’s tiring and boring. Being industrious gives good impression to the people around. And keeping a smile on your face brings you warm-heart welcome as they smile back.
I learned the basic process in different faces of applying, updating and payment in every quarter. It’s quite confusing at first but I get used to it. I also used to use the PMAIS and MCIS system. T hose systems are for the list and updating of the members of PhilHealth.
I acquired different skills and knowledge about the field I am working on. I believe that I would never learn this anywhere but here.

Insight:
The OJT brought me on a different ambiance and higher level of living life. ‘Cause here I acknowledge the skills I never thought I had and it gives me the glimpse of getting ready to face bigger problems on work.
WORK WITH PERSONNEL

As I work as an OJT in PhilHealth Office, I noticed that all staffs of the office are being nice and they are patiently taught us in some task. The staffs sometimes gave me hard task butI easily used to do it like for example checking of ER1, receiving ER1form, and counting of number of dependents to listed members and many more. Working with them was good. We actually, I interviewed them about the establishment when they didn’t give us task. I appreciate their kindness and for making me laugh. They’re funny sometimes and maybe just to make me feel welcome and part of the establishment. They see to it that i clearly get the instructions and of course they make sure i learn from the task they gave.

Insight: Success is a process which an individualthat one must pass through it. Being patient and teachable will not just lead us to a successful one but also to become a better person.

WORK WITH PEERS

It’s been 300 hours I spend inside the On the Job Training in the PhilHeath Office. There are lots of things that I can say that I’ll never forget, from the day I walk in the office to the time I walked out of the building. I met people who I enjoyed being with through their jokes, trips and even their smiles. I was trained together with my two fellow classmates; Ronaveil and Mary Joy. But actually, were all five OJT students. The other two are from Goodwill; Annabelle and Sharmie. Working with them was so good. We have unity and when I need help from them they helped me and never count my mistakes. I really enjoyed my OJT because I was never been bored because while working our task, we make some jokes just to make ourselves enthusiastic.

Insight: Unity is the better way to accomplish task but helping yourself to learn is the road to be successful someday. Just learn and appreciates one’s work. Be optimistic and don’t get insecure to other’s ability because we are all unique in all aspects of life.

III. CONCUDING STATEMENT

CONCLUSION

I have undergone a good training. The task given to me wasan application of system application and office related of course. The trainees were technically given actualproblems that have a main concern with the system problems and paper works subjects. The nature of the career course was the main focus of the training. The training students will be useful if the nature of their training have the major concern for their chosen career. The trainees would able to use the experiences they have gone through during the training whenever they are already in the field of specialization.
Working in PhilHealth Office, Gingoog City was really a great opportunity andexperience .Where in fact; my on the-job training had thought me manythings and gave me an experience which may serve as my backgroundon my future work after graduation. I learned how business personsand employees dressed themselves, how do they deal with their peers,and how do they handle themselves and their works in their respectiveoffices

RECOMMENDATION

The company created a good service to their clients and gave the best training for the students. The students must have a good company that would give them a good training ground and would enhance their knowledge and capabilities. The school must have the good coordination for some companies that offer an annual On the Job Training inside their company. The school should provide more budgets given to the OJT coordinators to have the best monitoring of the training the students are taking. One of the best ways of training is the provincial trainings that would give different experiences to the trainees. An out of town training would give more self-esteem to the students. For the company, they should give more lectures on the technical parts of the company like using their System by the Department.
