4. What are the characteristics of an ideal wife/husband?

5. Last week, we only met once in class and that's why I think we did not do as much work as we did the weeks before. We also worked in groups most of the class, so there was more of class work than lectures. In class we talked about the ideal husband/wife. I was surprised to find that many people "voted" for sense of humor for both, husband and wife, in fact it got the highest the vote. I also learned that most people choose their partners based on the similar goals, education and background. People tend to pick the people who share the morals and beliefs, but that doesn't mean that it happens all the time because there are others how marry "outside of their box".
Reading the text book, I learned new terms and definition that will help put my understanding together. For example, the term homogamy means choosing or searching for people with the same responsibilities. Another example is the term "marriage squeeze" which is referring to the gender imbalance. The Halo effect means that most people approach others based on their appearance, how the person looks, cute, seems interesting, funny, etc.
Jealousy is a feeling we all experience in different stages of our life. There are 2 types of jealousy, suspicious jealousy and reactive jealousy. Suspicious jealousy happens when the other person have nothing or uncertain reasons that his/her partner is involved with someone else. The other type of jealousy is reactive jealousy.
