One problem addressed in the movie “Sicko” is a documentary about the American Health Care system as seen through the eyes of the filmmaker Michael Moore. It presents the health care system in America as being fragmented and inefficient by using anecdotes to illustrate the plight of the 46 million Americans without health insurance and also to address the wider concerns about the kind of care that the insured get. The film also compares the non-universal and for-profit U.S. system with publicly funded health systems of Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Cuba.

Public health care is definitely the only health care which should be placed within society. When health care is socialized it ensures that it is available to everyone equally. No person, no matter their social class, or economic status should be denied medical attention for any reason. All humans are equal, which means equal treatment should be given to all. With public health care a person cannot be rejected treatment because they cannot afford it, or do not have health insurance. In a private health care system people can be rejected health insurance due to a previous or current health condition. It is ridiculous how people can be refused health care for having a track record of medical problems. Having a history only means they need more attention not less. Health care should not be like car insurance where people with higher accident numbers can be denied insurance. People are being denied health care when they need it the most.
