Mr. Gut Almighty

Picture this: Dylan’s senior year of High School is coming to an end, and he’s getting pumped for the college life ahead. One Saturday evening, it hits midnight, and he is awoken by a new voice-mail. He rolls over and listens to the message: “Dude, I’m so wasted! I can’t drive, please, please, help your buddy out!” Jumping out of bed, getting dressed, he grabs his car keys and heads for the front door. Walking out to his ride, his gut tells him something, but he ignores it and rev’s his car into reverse. Arriving in a speedy fashion, he walks in to find his friend. With Tommy by his side, they head back out to the car. Before Dylan can even unlock the doors, they are confronted by a couple of cops. Dylan watches 4 more go into the house, and quickly decides to be honest with the police. He tells them, I am the designated driver taking my friend here home, I haven’t had a sip. The cop thanks him, but says tonight isn’t your lucky night bud. Dylan’s life flashes before his eyes. Losing out on scholarships and many other opportunities in life, Dylan will never be the same.

Inside each and every one of you is a friend, a friend known as Mr. Gut Almighty a.k.a. MGA. It is simple; we can train ourselves to use our gut feeling smartly and put a lid on sayings such as Stop and Think, Haste Makes Waste; which in turn will better our society. Today I want to share my insights into this amazing second brain phenomenon, and convince you of its hidden potential. What will we look at in the next few minutes? Firstly, a quick look at who and what MGA really is. Secondly, how ignoring your gut could treat you, and thirdly, why we must convince society to start relying on MGA more often, that's right, we! Who ever thought your gut is a lot more than something that expands when you get older.
