Motivation

Motivation is the combination of desire, value, and beliefs that drives individuals to take action. These motivating factor are at the starting place of why people advance. The American Heritage dictionary gives the definition of motivation as an inducement or incentive.
This helps identify with why some people have a strong drive and is lively and is greatly motivated. This paper will hypothesizes differences between four individuals who are attempting to obtain a promotion. Ella, who is describe by the biological theory; Marcelo’s, who is describe by the psychosocial theory; Masoko, who follows an interactionist theory of motivation, and in conclusion Sam who is motivated by all three theories.
A. Speculate on the source of motivation for each person based on the assumptions.
1. What are the differences:
Ella’s motivation is biological theory that is instinct such as repulsion, curiosity and self-assertiveness. She likes the arousal, but maintain balance at the same time.
Marcelo’s motivation is psychosocial theory that is incentive and cognitions. With incentive theory it holds individuals to act to obtain desirable goals. The cognitive theories motivate affect by attributions, or how he interpret or think about his own and other actions.
Masoko’s motivation is interactionist theory that is expected to be attempting to reduce the anxiety in his life.
2. Describe the relationship between emotion and motivation:
Ella is the achiever, which drives to excel at things and strive to succeed. This type is the competition only. Marcelo is the affiliation which is the strong and needs for close interpersonal relationship with others. This type is in it for friends. He will cooperate just to have the social aspect. Masoko is the power and his desire is to make people act a certain way with the power of motivation. This type can careless about the competition.
