Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to move from a bus seat on December 1, 1955. By the end of 1960 the United States had 900 military personnel in Vietnam, by the end of 1970 the United States have a total of 335,800 military personnel. The term Watergate is a description of a complicated confusion of political scandals that happen between 1972 and 1974. The Reaganomics campaign had to main reasons; to lower taxes and a lesser government. The collapsing of the Soviet Union in 1991 brought disbelief to a patriot such as President Mikhail Gorbachev. All the significant events marked a place in history in the decade of which they happened.
Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks was the African American woman who had become known as the Mother of Civil Rights Movement or Pioneer of Civil Rights. She sat on a bus one day on December 1, 1955and refused to move a white man told her to move. She had made history that day. Because of Rosa Parks, segregation came to an end with the city on Montgomery fighting behind her.
Rosa Louise Parks was born as Rosa Louise McCauley on February 4 1913. Rosa married Raymond Parks on December 18, 1932. After the death of her grandmother she had began a long struggle with her mother’s illness. Rosa cared for their home along with her mother. Rosa finally received her high school diploma in 1934. Rosa’s fight for her education had finally been rewarded. Raymond Parks had little education because of racial segregation. He was a self educated man with the help of his mother Geri Parks. He had supported and was a positive influence in Rosa completing her education.
Raymond Parks was an activist in the attempt to freeing the Scottsboro Boys. Raymond and Rosa Parks had worked together for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) program. Rosa had worked as a secretary and later onto a youth leader of the local branch, and Raymond was an active member.
