Gandhi was a very important religious Indian leader, reformer, and lawyer who accomplish so much for his people in both a political and social ways. Gandhi was the first to imposed civil disobedience. He had brought many changes to India; he even became one of the founding fathers of the modern Indian states. He also influences other future generation leaders to their success. All Gandhi wanted was his people respect and their independence from the British.
Mohandas Gandhi was bored in 1862 in Porbandar, India. His father was Karamchand the dewan of Porbandor, also known as the Chief Minster. Gandhi family was from one of the highest caste. Growing up he believed all things were holy and that all religions deserve respect. He married at the age of thirteen, due to his Indian customs. He had 4 children with his wife Kasturbai. He wanted to study medicine but it was consider below his standards. His father encouraged him to pursuit studying law, so he did. At the age of 19 Gandhi went to college at the University of London to study law. In 1891 he became a lawyer he went to Bombay after he finish his studies. He tried to have a law firm in Bombay but was unsuccessful. Then he became the lawyer of prince of Porbandor.
He had endure many abusive and injustice situation because he was an educated colored Indian man. One of his first abusive encounters was when he was traveling first class in a train to South Africa when a white man ask him to move to a third class seat. That when he decide to take action in ending racial prejudicing. Gandhi lead a march of miner in South Africa and was arrested on November 6,1913. He also gathers a group of Indians from Pretoria to attack racial discrimination that South Africa had towards both Indians and blacks. When his speeches were heard in South Africa an angry mob attempted to lynch him, but failed.
