"The Era of Globalization" has become the preferred term for describing the current times. The concept of Global Village' is spreading like wild fire. Globalization took place because of revolution in Global Communication. In the last few decades world has shrunk drastically. Today an educated man living in Asia can speak about the life in America more confidently even if he would have never been to United States of America. Media has played a major role in the globalization of the world. It keeps us informed about the happening in other world.
Now-a- day's many countries have globalized economy. In search of cheap & efficient labour, Companies have started outsourcing their work. This helps in reducing the cost of the products which is very important because of cut throat competition in global market. The global media plays the decisive factor for outsourcing along with the government. It is the media who builds of maligns the image of country depending on the situation. The media could be used for personal benefits too. Hence the question of ownership of media is a major debate before the Global Village'.
The media at present seeks to respond to the changes brought by the process of globalization and it is incumbent upon the media to respond to these changes more quickly and more correctly than other sectors of society. It is also a fact that the globalization process brings about a number of dilemmas and problems, which seek effective answers and solutions. The ethics in Internet and cyberspace legislation are issues, which should be largely debated and for which solutions should be sought. They are directly connected to the media and their further development.
Commercialization of the media is one of the results of globalization. Due to globalization, the media are faced with increasing competition. All media channels, whether they are state-owned or private, compete with each other to be the first to break...
