Me

The Great Depression ravaged Americas economy.   Un-employment was at an all
time high and families were struggling to buy simple things like food.   Luxuries
could not be afforded at that time.   Spending was at an all time low, many
businesses tanked and went bankrupt.
Then when America entered World War II our economy grew by leaps and
bounds.   People suddenly had jobs, the un-employment percent dropped
dramatically.   Families now had money to spend on food and luxuries.   We were
finally coming out of the depression.
When men went off to fight in the war, women were left to take up the jobs
that the men left behind.   Along with the jobs women seemed to take another step
forward in equality.   Now women were allowed out of the house to make a living.
Women took jobs such as police officers, and some even went into manual labor.
Women working increased our econmy.   Sometimes two family members working
meant increased cash flow into the household and thus they spent more money and
in turn stimulated the economy.
Now that more people were working buisnesses started to once again
flourish.   Many autombile empires had to make war time materials such as plane
parts and tanks.   The demand for mass produced guns were high and buisnesses
had to make them.   Anything needed was built and we saw buisnesses boom once
again.
Steel mills had to produce massive quantities of metal to keep up with the
demand of it.   Metal was used in almost everything related to the war, guns,
knives, tanks, planes, bombs, and more.
