Abstract
Managing technical and professional people has evolved over the years and become a greater challenge in today’s fast-pace technical environment. Leaders have to adapt different styles of management based on the situations they are presented with. Leaders must also cope with organizational changes. Today’s business environment produces change in the workplace more suddenly and frequently than ever before. Hiring, retaining, motivating, evaluating and rewarding are other challenging critical factors for leaders. Ethical behavior in the organizations is also important factor to be considered and understood by the organization as a whole. This paper will examine the above challenges and factors for today’s leaders in managing technical and professional people.
