Report on Business Delegation Trip to Venezuela from 14th - 19th Dec 2006

IRIS was invited by the Prime Minister’s Department to joined our Prime Minister for an official bilateral trade visit to Caracas, Venezuela from the 17th to 20th Dec 2006. This was made possible through the recommendation of Ambassador Manuel Guzman from the Embassy of Venezuela in Kuala Lumpur. The business trip has enabled our company to identify the right business partner and alliances to achieve our defined objectives of market penetration for our electronic passport and smart card technology for the Government of Bolivarian Republic Venezuela as well as to other Latin America market.

The team member selected for this particular mission consist of Ralph Yew, Syeila and Dato’ Azrai with the task to introduced our ePassport, e-ID smart card and mobile incinerator system to the Government of Bolivaran Republic Venezuela.

Prior to visiting, IRIS has identified a requirement from the National Office of Identification and Immigration of Venezuela (ONIDEX) to launch its new ePassport and e-ID smart card for its people. Venezuela has a population of 26 million people.

IRIS has sent a letter requesting for meeting with the Head of ONIDEX – Mr Hugo Cabeza and its Project Manager Mr Jose Morales .
