Management and Leadership Paper
A leader can be a manager however a manager is not automatically a leader. The leader of a work group may materialize unofficially as the choice of leader unbeknownst to the person. When a manager demonstrates leadership, he or she influences the employees to achieve the goals of the organization without using his or her authority as manager. In this paper I am going to discuss the roles and responsibilities of organizational managers and leaders in any organizational culture.
Leadership
Two words often used but describe different concepts are leadership and management. Leadership is a quality that a successful manager must possess. Leadership deals with the interpersonal aspects of a manager's job, while planning, organizing, and controlling deal with the administrative part. Leadership also deals with change, inspiration, motivation, and influence. The plan of a manager is maximizing the productivity of the organization through managerial performance. To accomplish this, managers have to use organizing, planning, staffing, directing, and controlling. To become more effective a manager can not only be a leader, he or she has to have proper authority. A manager is hired by an organization and is given proper authority to direct the actions of the employees while fulfilling the organizations goals.
Management
Carrying out the organizations goals and maintaining stability is the major role and responsibility of Management. A manager should be able to plan, organize, lead and control and the leader must be able to influence employees through motivation, communication, group dynamics and discipline. The function of a manager is to direct the behavior of all employees

while achieving the organization's mission and objectives and at the same time helping them accomplish...
