William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
William Shakespeare known as the Bard of Avon was an english poet and playwright. His works caused much controversy but also earned lavish praise and has profoundly impacted the world over in areas of literature, culture, arts, theatre, and film. It is considered one of the best english language writers ever.
His work can be broke down in to genre titles like:
Tragedies like: Macbeth, Hamlet, Julius Caesar, Romeo and Juliet. Histories : King Henry VII, and Richard II.
Comedies: Merchant of Venice, Midsummer night's Dream.
and Poetry: Sonnets 1-30, The passionate Pilgrim etc
One of the most interesting plays ever written by Shakespears was Macbeth. this trageth play tells the story of a man who is deceived by himself and his wife. The play opens with thunder and lightning and the appearance of three witches--supernatural beings. Due to the fact that this is the beginning of the play, the opening Act, it foreshadows the central theme of the play--evil. The first recorded performance of Macbeth was in April, 1610.
to best explain Macbeth I should start with the different themes which run through the play.
Themes
One of the most important themes in Macbeth involves the witches' statement in Act 1, Scene1 that "fair is foul and foul is fair." (Act 1, Scene 1, Line 10) This phrase aptly describes the macabre status quo within the character Macbeth and without.  When Macbeth and Banquo first see the weird sisters, Banquo is horrified by their hideous appearances.  Conversely, Macbeth immediately began to converse with these universally known evil creatures.  After hearing their prophecies, one can say that Macbeth considered the witches to be "fair" when in reality their intentions were quite "foul." Macbeth's possession of the titles of Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor and King of Scotland came by foul means.  Macbeth became the Thane of Glamis by his father Sinel's death;...
