Led Zeppelin: A Band for the Ages
Throughout the years, music has provided an incredible effect on American culture. From Elvis Presley’s questionable dancing moves to the British Invasion to today’s hip-hop culture, music has influenced many aspects of American culture such as fashion, media, and the economy. Many different types of music suit many different demographics of people the United States. There will always be an audience for music no matter how popular or obscure. An endless amount of bands and musicians have played on the main stage in arenas and venues across the United States. However, the band Led Zeppelin has provided America with numerous styles of music and has created an image of power in the music industry. They have produced music that is unrivaled today and probably never will be paralleled.
Led Zeppelin came about during the British Invasion in the 1960s. The band was composed of Robert Plant (vocals), Jimmy Page (lead guitar), John Paul Jones (bass guitar, keyboards), and John Henry Bonham (percussion). The band was formed when Jimmy Page broke from the Yardbirds and found Robert Plant at many local English music studios. Plant suggested that his friend John Bonham join the band and Page agreed. Page had also made other compilations with John Paul Jones and had him tag along. The rest is history. They became, arguably, the most influential rock and roll band of all time.
Each particular band or musician has their personal own. Led Zeppelin’s style is hard to explain. Many would say that their music is a louder and harder version of the blues. Led Zeppelin made it alright to listen to loud guitars and long guitar solos. Their elaborate stage shows can be seen today by many performers. However, they played many different genres of songs such as reggae, folk, and funk. Their effect on future artists is immense.
