Developing Leadership Potential

In this advanced world, one should develop competent, aggressive leadership. What is being competent? Competent is being properly or sufficiently qualified for the purpose. Aggressive is being assertive, bold, and energetic. I believe we should show these characteristics in order to develop our full leadership potential.
Before you achieve leadership, you should have the capacity and ability to lead. Not only in your school, but in your community and society as well. You must go beyond acceptable limits to achieve your goals. That, in part, is a very successful way to develop your leadership potential.
What does it take to become a leader? First, it takes responsibility. When you take responsibility for your own actions, you can make moral or rational decisions on your own. Secondly, one must set an example for others to follow. When you do this, people will see that you are showing a leadership, and will, ultimately, follow in your footsteps. Next, never give up! Strive to be all you can, so when times get hard, you can use your ability and capacity to lead, to keep going in your purpose.
You must also have ambition. As Mary Kay Ash stated, "Don't limit yourself. Many people limit themselves by what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind allows you to. What you believe, you can achieve." I believe this entirely. When developing leadership potential, you shouldn't limit yourself to the common standards of society.
It is also wise to have courage. Courage is the state or quality of mind that enables one to face danger, fear, or vicissitudes with self-possession, confidence, and resolution. Maya Angelou stated, "One is not born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, one cannot be kind, true, merciful, generous or honest." I believe this, because one cannot expect to be a successful leader without the power of courage.
