The greatest skill that a person can have is leadership. What makes a person a good leader? Why is so important to be a leader? It has been said that you are either kings among men or pawns of kings and history remembers great leaders and great leaders make history. If it wasn’t for the leadership abilities that the leaders of our country possessed then our world would surely be a different place. My first chief taught me that leadership is something that you never stop learning.
What makes a good leader? The ability to lead is to guide the course of action of a group or an individual. People admire great leaders because the leaders have certain great qualities about them that they wish they had, they want to be more like them. Here are some of the qualities that make a good leader they are communication skills, time managing abilities, mentoring abilities, and a good moral fiber. It is said that in order to lead you must first follow. This is beneficial so that the leader can put themselves in the shoes of their people and know how best to approach and communicate with them. Having mentoring skills is a must in order to develop the skills of your suburbanites to become a stronger team. By taking interest in their development you will also build their trust and confidence and they will be more willing to follow you, which can make all the difference in a team. A person will always do a better at something when they want to do it.
Some of the greatest leaders of this country have been Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther king Jr. All these leaders have made great accomplishments for our country. All these great men have some leadership qualities in common but they all have one that they excel at. John F. Kennedy gave some of the greatest speeches ever given.
