Seemingly unchanged. | d) Oil and water on plastic | Oil: expands evenly into almost perfect circle, takes longer to reach max expansion, covers more surface area, lays flatter on surfaceWater: did not form even circle, reached max expansion very quickly, formed more of a bubble on surfaceBOTH: Clear and shiny | e) Making iodine in water: potassium iodide (KI), and sodium hypochlorite (bleach, NaClO). | KI- ClearNaOCl- ClearWhen combined they solution immediately turned a bright yellow. |

    We came to the conclusion that salt in water is a homogeneous mixture which readily does dissolve in water. While Sand is a heterogeneous mixture due to the many different particles that it contains, while in water it does not dissolve and therefore it remains separated. What physical properties will you use to separate this mixture? The physical properties that were used to separate this mixture were filtration and distillation among this experiment.     The goal of this lab project was to calibrate temperature and pressure measurement systems. The systems we calibrated, were the Omega Model PX-236-060GV Piezoresistive Pressure Transducer, a thermocouple, and a thermistor. In order to obtain more accurate and precise readings, an AMTEK Model RK Deadweight Pressure Tester was utilized to calibrate an Omega Model PX236-06GV Piezoresistive Pressure Transducer. We had to add metal plates in increments of 5 psig until we reached 60 psig to a deadweight tester. The way we used the results was by using them to calculate the percent error and standard deviation.
