Kudler has been advised to settle such cases if possible to save on expense. Although this is a common issue that many stores have to deal with, there are other issues that must be dealt with. One of the issues Krogers is dealing with right now is any stores nightmare and that is th recall of a food. There was a massive recall of beef a few months back that Kroger is currently being sued over. (mynewsdigest, 2008) Kroger is also dealing with the issues of responsible labor practices throughout it's chain, even down to the suppliers. (Coopamerica, 2008) Now of course Kroger is bigger, hence a bigger target, but recalls and slip and fall accidents affect all stores, regardless of size. If Kudler expands, they can expect more tort issues.
