Kasalan Sa Likod Ng Simbahan
From the show I watched titled “Kasalan Sa Likod Ng Simbahan, I can’t deny that all the performers are good in acting in their character. I know it is very difficult to perform in live like theater compare on the performance we saw on television and cinemas. It is because live performance like the presentations made by TAGA-CLSU, mistake is not allowed, and the motion of the character must be powerful and emotional, no cut when they forgot the script unlike the movie on TV and cinema.
Let’s return to the story, Kasalan Sa Likod Ng Simbahan is a story of romance and comedy rolled into one which try to prove(or not) that love always finds its way. Its all about of two people loved each other but their parents is not agree and their family, and now they see each other again, although a very long time that they don’t see each other, the feelings they have when they are young is still remains strong. After 50 years, Alfonso a 69-year old widower and a 74-year old maid Segundina are firm to finally tie the knot and try to continue their love story which was ruined by destiny. The only problem is, their decision to walk down the aisle is the biggest laughing stock in town. Avoiding humiliation, Alfonso’s children are desperately trying to stop the wedding. Sometimes it can also happen on reality, sometimes the family is the cause of separation of two individual like the case of Lolo Alfonso and Lola Gundina but everyone deserves a second chance – in life and in love. As they say, opportunity always knocks to those who know how to

Assuredly, the University of Wisconsin states that every performance done by the same group of people will always be unique in some way or another. Many of the things that make every show that you can watch unique could be a certain prop, timing, or technology problem that could occur during the show. Sometimes the actors have to use improv if someone forgets a line or comes on the stage late. Usually you don’t notice this as much as the actors do. Besides that, the University of Wisconsin also states that actors for live theater don’t get to redo any of their scenes during the production because they either messed up a line or they completely forgot to come on stage. You can avoid this as actors with lots of practice. Actors for movies and TV series can redo their scene if something went bad or they kept laughing throughout the scene. This can show that live theater actors are more skilled and have to have a lot more practice on the entire show than a movie actor or actress. In short, live theater can benefit us with literacy skills and practice skills that can make our lives better in many unique…

Some of the more “technical” things I noticed about the acting is how the actors cheated out to the audience instead of facing away and blocking the audience’s view. They also used the stage space well, as they didn’t all just group together in center stage but moved around a lot. There were no asides, so no one broke the fourth wall.…

There is a recognition that if you want ‘realistic drama’, television and cinema are far more effective than theatre. What is unique about theatre is its relationship to its audience: the fact that actor and audience share the same time and space in a ‘live’ experience. It is basically a physical experience in which the actor stimulates the active imagination of the audience.…

It is such a very wonderful love story that tickles your bones and tells you that it is a nice feeling to be in love. Though, its title suggests its tragic ending, but still I on my part like the simple yet elegant story crafted in this novel by Zoilo Galang. Considering the fact that this is the first Filipino novel written in English, it follows suit that it lacks sophistication. The characterization, plot and setting of the said novel are simple. However, behind this simplicity, it is still a good try and a nice start for the future of novels being the youngest literary genre in the Philippines.…
