Jack The Ripper

Jack the Ripper

1.From Source A you can learn that Polly Nichols murder shocked and surprised London as Source a states that there was “no adequate motive” for the murders which is odd as most murders at the time were for money, this meant that anyone could be the next victim and that the victims were not going to be missed as you also learn form Source a that they were the poorest of the poor. Furthermore from Source A you learn that there has been another murder like Nichols’ the murder victim (Martha Tabram) was of the same class (being poorest of the poor) and that both murders were horrific. The Murderer is described as a “demented being” and used an “excess of force” which shoes you that at the time they were looking for a mad man as such shocking killings had never been seen before. The violent acts performed by the murderer are said to be a “peculiar feature” in both murders, which implies that it is a serial killer.

2.The evidence in Source c supports Source a in the fact that they both are talking about how much effort the killer must have put in to the murders and that they both describe how violent the deaths were, but Source C overall does not support Source a as there are many key differences such as the differences in the style that they were written.
Source C is very factual as it is report written by a coroner for the police and is very professional its tone is more serious and emotionless whereas Source A is emotional and sensationalist as it is a newspaper article from a local newspaper, it is written like this as no matter what they have to sell newspapers and that is its purpose but Source A supports the theory that the killer is a mad man whilst Source C considers the killer to be clever and probably skilled and Source A is opinion but Source C is Fact.,

Source C supports Source B almost completely as they are both official reports by medical experts. They are very factual...
