InterClean, Inc. is a cleaning and sanitation product company that is looking to make the jump to providing clients with services and solutions in addition to those products. In the following pages, we will discuss the different issues and opportunities that InterClean faces, and how they got into the situation they are in now. We will take a look at the different stakeholders in the company, and what their interests and values are, as well as any ethical dilemmas they may face. We will discuss an end-state vision for the company, as well as what it will take to make that vision a reality. We will also look at some alternative solutions, as well as discuss the optimal solution for the future. Let’s take a look first at the issues that InterClean is currently facing and what opportunities have presented themselves.
Situation Analysis
Issue and Opportunity Identification
InterClean, Inc. is a major player in the sanitation scene. The excel in demonstrating and selling products, however with regulations and rules becoming more stringent, customers are now looking for services and solutions that will streamline their cleaning efforts. As InterClean begins to transition into a service providing company, there will be many organizational changes. Employees are aware of these changes and are fearful for their jobs. After the company acquired a major competitor, EnviroTech, many employees began to worry they may be laid off. There has been a lack of communication as to how everything is going to play out, and it has caused a little bit of chaos amongst the company’s employees.
InterClean has a lot of opportunities here. One key opportunity is that, with the acquisition of EnviroTech, a company already familiar with servicing, they can combine forces and knowledge and quickly make the transition to a more service based company....
