To Inform

Specific Purpose:
At the end of my speech, the audience will be able to identify the development of the Embryo and Fetus.

Central Idea:
How the fetus is developed from the first trimester to the third trimester.

Introduction:

Pregnancy is counted from the first day of the mother's last period. This means that at conception, when a single sperm penetrates the mother’s egg cell, and the resulting cell is a zygote, the unborn child is already considered two weeks.

1. Major Idea:

First Trimester is the 0 to 12th week (3 months) of pregnancy

A. Supporting Idea:

Week 0 – 12
The fertilization of the egg cell and the development of the embryo. The egg cell
is fertilized by the sperm and is now in the fallopian tube. A unique human being
is now formed, forty-six chromosomes combine which will determine all of the
physical characteristics. By the 3rd week the embryo is called a blastocyst. It
implants itself in to the mothers uterus. The unborn child is rapidly developing.
The spinal column, and nervous system are forming. The kidneys, liver, and
intestines are taking shape. The 4th week the embryo produces hormones which
stop the mothers menstrual cycle. By the 5th week the heart has start beating the
neural tube divides into three parts to form a brain. The 7th week the facial
features are visible, the major muscle system is developed, the child has it’s own
blood type, and the child can...
